A Kubla Khan Production

About Us

The Filmmakers

Kubla Khan Productions, LLC is the brainchild of Kalima Y. Young and Aj Hyde.  Creative partners since 2003, Young and Hyde have been working steadily to build an independent gay production company that focuses on quality work with minimum budget.

Lessons Learned is their second feature film. Their first feature, Grace Haven, premiered March 2006 and has been screened throughout Maryland and DC.

Mission

Kubla Khan Productions is a gay and lesbian oriented, independent digital video production company dedicated to producing original quality work without the Hollywood budget. Located in Baltimore City, Kubla Khan Productions works in Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Virginia, bringing together talented groups of artists, writers, actors and producers.  Kubla Khan's mission is to take the camp out of gay-themed features and documentaries while maintaining the artful and diverse relevance of contemporary gay life.  All original works are imbued with a collective energy and vision built upon respect for all individuals.
